February 22 - 24, 2008 for the Third
Annual Cascade EMS Conference
being held in Bend, Oregon and Hosted by Air Life of Oregon.
Pre-conference
workshops, which offer topics for First Responders, EMT's, and Paramedics, will be held on
Friday February 22. This year 24 hours of the 48 hour Paramedic Refresher
will be covered during the three days ( subject to minimum registration).
The Conference on Saturday and Sunday will
have general sessions in the morning, and in the afternoon
attendees have a choice of several sessions to attend. Take a look at the
agenda for all three
days. Also, vendors will
be on hand starting Saturday morning and continuing through Sunday afternoon
and have a variety of products and vehicles on display.
On
Friday February
22, conference attendees may wish to attend one or more
specialized sessions, most which have some "hands on" component. Each
workshop will typically be focused towards the skill level of of one
or more of the EMS certification levels.
The
TAPS Workshop
(Trauma Assessment and Packaging Skills)
will cover a variety of skills that are considered "basic", but are used
by any EMS Professional.
For Intermediates,
Intermediate Cardiac
Life Support (ICLS)
is a 8 hour workshop which was designed 14 years ago specifically for
EMT-I's.
